No. The RMS GPI can be integrated to most POS applications.

How long does it take to interface the RMS GPI to our POS?

Typically two to three days. Simply send a programmer to our offices with your application. The integration and testing has been completed by our current VARs in less than three days.

Which gas pumps will your GPI work with?

The GPI will work with most pumps made today including Gilbarco, Tokeim, Bennett, GasBoy, Kraus, D&H, Schlumberger, Dresser Wayne and other popular models.

Can you do advertising at the pump, i.e. sell coffee, car washes etc?

Yes.

Does it support a loyalty program at the pump?

Yes.

Does it support Smart Cards?

Yes.

How does it measure fuel?

The fuel is measured by Gallons and/or Litres. The RMS GPI updates the tank and fuel type data in real time as the fuel is being dispensed by pump and hose.

Where has it been installed?

The RMS GPI has been installed in small to large C-store and big box operations in Canada.

What feature do you have at the pump to increase business inside the store?

The RMS GPI system can generate coupons for all customers that pay at the pump. These     coupons can be redeemed inside the store which can help increase traffic to the store. This is a standard feature of the RMS GPI Fuel Management solution.

How does your system increase sales and traffic?

There are different features that can help you increase sales and traffic. These features are   included as part of the RMS GPI solution. They include:

  1. Loyalty Cards - The RMS GPI system allows the store to use their own loyalty cards at the pump for automatically discounting of fuel right at the pump. This helps encourage customers to visit over and over again both at the pump and inside the store.
  2. Commercial Fleet Cards - The RMS GPI system supports all of the commercial fleet cards at the pump to increase fuel sales and also traffic in the store. This is a standard feature with the RMS GPI System.

Can I setup my own fleet cards?

Yes. The RMS GPI system allows you to assign your own in-house (private) fleet cards which you can have distributed to the local police force, EMS, Cab companies etc.

Can we use our existing pumps?

To be PCI & PA-DSS compliant, you will require a Gilbarco CRIND or a Dresser Wayne CAT. The RMS GPI fuel application is PCI & PA-DSS compliant so it will support your existing pumps. For further questions on a specific pump, please retrieve the specs from your pump tech and  forward  to RMS at info@rmssoftware.com.

Does your system support all types of fuel?

The RMS GPI system supports dispensing and recoding of alternative fuel types such as        propane, Bio diesel and natural gas. This is standard on the system.

Does the system support different pumps?

The RMS GPI system supports all types of pumps and can support up to 4 different types of   pumps on one site so that the owner can upgrade to new pumps without having to change      everything at one time.

Can your system manage the Fast Food area?

The RMS GPI systems support a complete control system for Fast food sales and accountability. This eliminates the purchase of another system. This also allows for cross merchandising of product from inside the store to the pump, therefore increasing revenue and profitability.

Does the system have logistics and trending of fuel sales by day , week and period to increase profitability?

Yes. The supply-chain integration principle is an enhanced integration to the logistics systems of companies, customers and suppliers with the goal of achieving optimization and profitability.

How does the system issue fuel price changes?

Fuel price changes can be initiated from either the head office or the store, depending on the  security rights assigned.  The RMS GPI Fuel Management System application initiates the price changes automatically to the pumps.

Why should I invest in the RMS GPI Fuel Management System?

Investing in the RMS GPI system can help increase your revenue and more than off-set this cost. You can:

  • Increase revenue by 10%-15% with loyalty cards
  • Increase profits by helping to identify and help you take action to reduce shrinkage of fuel stock
  • Couponing at the pump to drive in-store traffic

How does the system provide for messaging to site to notify fuel price changes?

The RMS GPI Fuel Management System console will display the price change taking effect to the cashiers on the system.

How does the system provide for pricing strategy of fuel?

  • The RMS GPI Fuel Management System can stack price changes by different times of the day to be executed automatically.
  • Loyalty and Cardlock customers can have access to the fuel system at pre-determined prices upon entry of the card and PIN number at the pumps.

What control tolerances can be set for price or margin adjustment?

  • When creating the fuel product, the system asks the user to specify a minimum and maximum gross profit percentage.
  • When changing a price, if a fuel’s gross profit falls outside of this range, an exception and alert occurs.

How does the system provide suggested fuel reordering based on quantity and existing days supply, which can be confirmed or modified by site manager?

The RMS GPI system provides fuel trending reports by fuel type, by day, by week, MTD and YTD.

How does the proposed system record tank reading on a site, by tank basis?

  • Every tank has an identity tank number code, a description, max/on hand/re-order volume level and has brand wet stock product assigned to it.
  • Each tank can be monitored by electronic tank monitors “Veeder Root” that are interfaced to the RMS GPI fuel management system.
  • Tank charts are entered manually for sites that do not have electronic sensors in the tank to manage variance from dips into the database.
  • All tank information by product, and pump flow are used to create the EPA “Environmental Protection Agency” report by day, week, month and year.

How does the system provide for an end of day reconciliation between meter readings or sales volumes and tank dipstick readings?

  • The system calculates the tank reconciliations when an EOD is run from the Fuel management system.
  • The system closes out the receiving, plus or minus adjustments, dispensed flow from hose sales by pump, captures the non resettable totals from the pumps by hose number and stores in the database.
  • The RMS GPI fuel management system then captures the Veeder-Root readings and creates an over short variance by tank. In the case of no Veeder-Root electronic tank sensor system the RMS GPI fuel management system allows the user to manually enter the tank dip readings to create the variance.

How does the system allow authorized users to order at site?

Password protection and administration rights of the operating system are created so that only authorized users can order at the site.

How does the system propose to enable goods receipting at site?

The software allows the user to input the receiving ticket for vendor, gallons received, tax,       freight, cost, date of receiving, and driver name.

What costing methods are available for inventory valuation, both fuel and product items?

The methods available are weighted average cost and last cost.

How do you provide service for your system?

  • Remote software support capabilities such as monitoring, management and maintenance using secured connection over Internet, VPN or other TCP/IP connection.
  • The RMS GPI fuel management system has its own pump diagnostics for assessing site issues with pumps.

How does the system provide audit capability at site?

There is an audit trail for each fuel transaction on the site system that is created when the      customer hangs the hose on the pump. The transaction audit provides date, time, Fuel type,  gallons dispensed, dollars, method of payment, banking auth code for PAP, Charge account   number with discount and tax.

How does the system control the pumps? Is it controller based or software based? Do I need a D-Box or Pam unit?

  • The RMS GPI fuel management system controls the pump with software running on either a PC or server in the site on a network.
  • The application manages the pumps for all fueling and PAP functions of a transaction through the RMS GPI fuel management system and an Ethernet connection. This eliminates the need for D-Box or Pam units.

What are the benefits of eliminating D-Boxes and Pam Units?

The RMS GPI Fuel Management software allows you to control the pump, CRIND and site through Ethernet – a reliable and unobtrusive method as it is simply connected to your POS through a switch. Eliminating your D-Boxes and Pam Units means you can you can lower your costs of fixing them.
